The Klarna Cashback initiative, launched in July 2024 across 12 markets, is a transformative project aimed at driving user engagement and reshaping in-app shopping behavior. This feature incentivises users by returning a percentage of their purchases, funded by affiliates, directly into their Klarna accounts. It not only encouraged more frequent shopping within the Klarna app but also played a pivotal role in increasing adoption rates for Klarna accounts.

As the lead product designer, I owned the end-to-end design process, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders to craft a seamless and intuitive user experience. I ensured the feature met both user and business objectives: empowering users to earn cashback with maximum transparency while shopping and driving app conversions globally.

Since its launch, Klarna Cashback has made a significant impact, becoming a core feature of the Klarna app ecosystem. It has driven increased engagement, higher app usage, and greater affiliate merchant participation.
