Innovation space

Innovation managers faced challenges in effectively communicating and educating employees about the innovation program through the existing platform. This gap led to lower engagement and reduced effectiveness of innovation initiatives.

Empowering departmental innovation

The business identified a significant opportunity to enhance innovation management by providing departments with greater autonomy. To develop a solution, we conducted a series of collaborative workshops aimed at exploring the necessary functionalities and design elements.

These workshops led to the creation of an "Innovation Space"—a dedicated page where each department could independently host, manage, and monitor their innovation programs. This space was designed not only for effective program management but also to integrate educational content, allowing departments to share updates and maintain ongoing communication with their teams. By granting departments this autonomy, we significantly boosted engagement, ensuring that innovation initiatives were more targeted, impactful, and widely embraced across the organization.

Business Impact

The Innovation Space feature enabled clients to expand their use of the platform beyond single pilot programs, implementing multiple innovation spaces across various departments. This extension not only increased the platform’s value but also fostered long-term client relationships and contract renewals.

After designing the user-facing page, our next step was to determine how it would be configured by admins. The challenge was to create a flexible yet intuitive configuration process. I collaborated closely with the development team to achieve this, resulting in a page-builder-style UI that allows users to easily update content, adjust cell sizes, and make other modifications.
